Over three separate sessions, come and learn all the basics. In fact this is exactly what I did.. The rest is practice. Youtube is brilliant for learning, but really only once you have felt and physically had hands on.
Come and try it out.. I’m located near Minions on Bodmin Moor in Cornwall.
Session 1 is preparing the clay and making your first reasonably round things on the wheel. You will probably be able to make about 6 items in this session.
Session 2 is when the clay has dried to a leather hard consistency and you trim and finish the item in it’s raw state.
Session 3 is once the item has been fired once and is ready for glazing.
Voila… you can either pick up the pieces or I can send on.
Each session is about 3-4 hours.
Price includes all clay, glaze, firing etc. Price is per person.
It is best if you can book the first two sessions with about a week in between as it is tricky to keep pieces at the right consistency for much longer. It can be more for the last session.
Other sessions can be organised for learning pulling handles, different decorating techniques or for handbuilding.
I have two wheels and can accommodate two people max for each session.
Wonderful fingernails will not survive.
